Is the Philippine justice System Flawed?
The Philippine government is inherently corrupt. The laws that are supposed to protect people from misuse and abuse are being twisted by corrupt lawyers and officials, the police that are supposed to serve and protect the people are the ones who are committing crimes and atrocities. The implementation process of applying international law in local cases is a farce. Often it does not exist. There is no jury and no right of redress against arbitrary penalties applied by the police. The local so called attorneys are mostly incompetent and are monetarily driven.
Corruption in the Philippines seems to be unstoppable, but there is still hope from the interviews and research we have done there are things that we can do to stop or minimize corruption, we have a good justice system in place it just needs to have a better or stricter implementation.

The Philippines and the U.S.A signed an agreement (EDCA) which allows U.S troops wider access to the Philippine bases and facilities for joint use in maritime security and disaster response. There are two bases that are being eyed for the project, Oyster Bay which is 160 km (100 miles) from the disputed Spratly Island is being planned to be converted into a navy base port.
